Currently, the website I’m working only takes deposits site-wide. This was previously necessary because we make custom surfboards and don’t require the full payment until they are completed.

Now we’ve added quite a few accessories to the website that we want to allow customers to purchase at full price so we can ship it to them.

How can I make it so that a full-payment option will only apply to those items? Any help is greatly appreciated.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hey there,

    Many thanks for reaching out.

Can you tell me what plugin you’re using to take deposits? Perhaps I can point you in the direction of some documentation that may help.

To note, this site isn’t hosted with WordPress.com so our support overall is limited in this instance, but if it were hosted with WordPress.com, where updates are run automatically, we’d be more than happy to help.

To explain, there’s two types of WordPress. The first is WordPress.com, where we provide daily backups, automatic updates, a 24/7 support service and an optimised version of WordPress. The second is self-hosted WordPress, where the free open source version of the software is installed onto a server.

More on the differences can be found here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

It’s possible to migrate the site over to WordPress using our migration plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wpcom-migration/ and the site would need to be on the business plan – and we could help with these sorts of incidents further.

    I hope this helps.

    Hey,

Thanks for your reply! The site is currently using the “WooCommerce Deposits” plug-in to accept payments. The only issue is that it is site-wide, and I would like the option to accept full payment on specific products.

    Hi,

I checked that plugin’s documentation and saw that there’s a way to enable deposits for certain products only.

Also, since this is a paid plugin, you can contact WooCommerce.com Support directly at https://woocommerce.com/my-account/create-a-ticket/
