Multiple domain names to one blog
-
Hi
I am building my website at wordpress.comIt is currently at http://www.ministrysupportservices.wordpress.com
I own ministrysupportservices.com.au plus a number of other domains that are similar, as well as my ownname.com.au and variations
I want the site’s main address to be ministrysupportservices.com.au
I can see where to do this through wordpress. My query is :
I want to point all the domains I own to the same site.
How do I do this?
Do I do it through WordPress or through Crazy Domains?
What are the costs involved?Thanks
KarenThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You need to map your main domain via domain WordPress mapping. The others you ave a choice. Most domain hosters allow you to set up a redirect – so for example anyone browsing to http://otherdomain.com/anything will go to your main page ministrysupportservices.com.au.
The second way is to set them all up through domain mapping. This would mean that http://otherdomain.com/what-does-mss-offer/ would go to http://ministrysupportservices.com.au/what-does-mss-offer/ and so on.
Whicheer way you do it the user will see your main domain name in URL bar

Thanks Tandava108.
If I take the second option, to I have to pay for each one separately?

Yes, each domain mapping is a separate payment. Seriously I would question whether mapping separate domains is worthwhile – only the primary one will show up in web searches, etc.
The only reason I can think of is to “sit on” similar names to stop someone from starting a ministrysupportservices.com, ministrysupportservices.org, or ministrysupportservices.co.uk, etc. and a redirect would do for that

Thanks. I own those, so no-one would start them :)
I just thought if people got the name wrong, they’d still find me.
