multiple galleries

I am trying to create multiple galleries, assuming a gallery is like a file folder, but all of my pictures are going into the same area. In creating http://metrodanceclubdfw.org/photos/photos2013-photos-2/ I set up a slide show for spring dances. When I added pictures for summer dances I wanted to also do a slide show, but I didn’t see anywhere to designate that I wanted a slide show, and my spring dances slide show now contains the summer pictures also after I added them to the gallery. So I have two problems (1) spring dances has pictures that don’t belong there. (2) summer dances has lines and lines of code and I would like to turn those into a slide show. Are galleries like folders? That is, can I create one for a slide show and another gallery for another slide show? Thanks!!
