Multiple overlay-icons on ,Featured Image‘ – with multiple links…

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi there!

My name is Dom, I‘m from Cologne/Germany, so please excuse my inperfect english… ;-)

    So here is my challange:

I‘m on wordpress 3.5.2. I have different posts – with different ,Featured Images‘.
What I‘m trying to do is to assign multiple links to each ,Featured Image(s)‘ as an OVERLAY.
This means (PC/MAC browser-wise): When I hover over the image (all modern browsers!), the ,Featured Image‘ darkens/lightens and – let‘s say – 10 icons appear on the image (40 px x 40 px – 5 & 5 in a row – centered). Each icon should (when clicked) open a new (external) website or have HTML/Shortcode-behaviour -> Photo-Icon opens a lightbox OR slider etc.

On mobile devices (no hover) the icons should appear on first ,TAP‘ of the image and link to external websites with 2nd ,TAP‘ on the individual icon -> open the external website (_blank).

    Icons can/should be ,retina-ready‘ (SVG‘s).

I‘m looking for an shortcode/custom field-solution – maybe YOUR SOLUTION.
Yes, I‘m willing to pay for it, when there is nothing (FREE) out there and YOUR solution is the right solution I‘m looking for… :-D

So, any suggestions/offers are welcome: (email visible only to moderators and staff). I‘m looking forward to your ideas!

    THX from Cologne,
    Dom
