Multiple Portfolio Pages?
-
I’m using the BLASK theme + want to use the portfolio page layout on multiple pages, however with DIFFERENT portfolio projects on each page. I don’t seem to be able to find a way to do this as tagging the projects doesn’t seem to allow me to dictate which page they land on so at the moment I just have repeats of the same page including the same projects. Can anyone help?

Hi @poemsandasausage, I’m looking at a list of portfolio items here:
https://the27thchapter.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=jetpack-portfolioCan you try specifying a portfolio type or portfolio tag? Note that’s different from a post tag. You’d then link to that portfolio type or tag like so:

It’s a great shout but I can’t seem to find any way to do it: only project type which doesn’t seem to have any bearing on anything in the front end. So frustrating…it seems like such a basic thing 🙈

Just setting a project type won’t change anything on the site, no. But if you have a project type you can add the link to that project type to a custom menu, or you can create a new page, add the portfolio shortcode to that page, and specify using the shortcode that only projects from that type should be displayed on that page.

However, the portfolio page template will always show all portfolio projects published on your site. That’s what it’s designed to do, and cannot be changed.
The methods above will allow you to show projects of a specific type on their own pages, but they’ll use the formatting for archive pages or for the shortcode, not the portfolio page template.
