Multiple Portfolios

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi!

I’m trying to create two portfolios, say one for cat photos and one for dog photos. I also made two test projects (one cat, one dog) with project tags and types as well. Somehow, I can’t find a way to filter projects displayed on each portfolio (by type or tag). I looked for a workaround by putting a certain type or tag as a menu item instead of the portfolio pages instead but it wasn’t possible either (only non-project tags/categories can be included in the menu). At the moment both dog and cat projects are displayed on each portfolio page.

Is it possible to achieve the goal I have in mind? Or am I missing anything (maybe feature/s only available to premium users or another add-on)?

    Thank you very much!!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    re: switching themes
Every theme has a detailed theme description page with set-up instructions and a live demo site. Here’s an example of the detailed theme description page here https://wordpress.com/themes/goran/ and a live demo site here https://gorandemo.wordpress.com/

Switching themes can be easily done, provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the site. Themes are just “skins” on WordPress.COM hosted blogs. You can quickly and easily change themes on any WordPress.COM hosted blog to another one found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and no data will be lost or negatively affected by the change. The only time you may have to do a lot of work is if you are changing to a dramatically different theme with different features and/or if you have done any CSS editing.

Provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the blog go to Dashboard > Appearance > Themes, Browse themes until you find one you like and click the “activate” or the “preview” link, or type in the name of the theme you want to use when it appears.

The theme customizer https://en.support.wordpress.com/customizer/ provides a preview function for exactly that purpose ie. so you can view what a theme will appear like prior to changing one.

    Hi

Thanks for the reply. I tried using a shortcode like

    [portfolio display_types=true display_tags=false include_type=dog columns=3 showposts=10 orderby=title]

It was able to filter the projects based on the type I want to, but it displays the projects different from how a portfolio page template does it. I’ve tried using the shortcode on a “Default Template” and a “Portfolio Page Template” and it does the same thing.

What I’m looking for is a way to filter projects based on their type or tag and display them the way a “Portfolio Page Template” page displays its projects.

Finally, I was able to find where I can add project types/tags to the menu (through wp-admin->appearance->customize->menus). It filters the projects based on the type/tag I want and it displays it like a Portfolio Page Template.

What I’m looking for now is a way to remove the “Project Type:” at the header of the page so I will see “Dog” instead of “Project Type: Dog” or maybe remove the entire header.
