Multiple post-notification emails to follower list

  Hi. I recently converted from WP.com to a self-hosted WP.org site, although the domain is still through WP.com. Now, whenever I post, my followers receive two emails. The emails are from my blog name and from my personal email address. I think it may be due to update emails being sent to the list from WP.com and my blog on WP.org. I searched my WP.com Dashboard and didn’t find anything that seemed relevant. Do you have any suggestions for fixing this issue?

  Are you still posting to your WordPress.org site as well as your newer WordPress.com site?

  I see your self-hosted site is still connected to jetpack. You might try disconnecting that.

  Thanks, but I went the other way – from WordPress.com to WordPress.org. I want to run the blog through .org and to shut down any notifications coming from the .com blog, if that’s where the redundant email is coming from.

  Ah, my apologies. I’m not sure how I misread that.

  WordPress.com would not be sending anything to your followers with your personal email.

  When you connected jetpack, did you migrate your followers?

  The issue, I believe, is (2) separate notifications are going out.

  1. The personal email address is being sent from the Subscribe2 Plugin (what we are using to capture email addresses) and

  2. The blog name one from WP.com, via JetPack integration.

  To mitigate this behavior, I believe there are (2) options:

  Option 1 – disable WP.COM notifications (via JetPack, without fully disconnecting JetPack), or
  Option 2 – disable Subscribe2 and rely fully on JetPack again.

  We are trying to figure out if Option 1 is possible.

  Hi Kevin,

  If you don’t want email notifications sent out from WordPress.com/Jetpack, you can disable the Subscriptions module in the Jetpack section of your .org blog’s dashboard. We have a guide for activating and deactivating Jetpack modules you can take a look at for that.
