multiple postings to facebook

  Good afternoon,

  For some reason when I post my blog, it chooses to post twice to my Facebook page. I’ve tried to figure out why it’s doing this but can’t. Might you have any suggestions? Thanks!

  Hello @lisadeangelis
  It maybe happening because you have connected Facebook to some other social network to post on your timeline.

  Most of the time twitter is connected to Facebook, so whenever a tweet is made a post is simultaneously made on your Facebook timeline as well.

  Please make sure that you disconnect Facebook from your Twitter account, if you have it connected.

  To disconnect Facebook from Twitter:
  1. From the Settings menu on Twitter, visit the Apps tab.
  2. Find the Facebook connection and click the Disconnect link.

  Hello @otpidusprime
  I checked Twitter and Facebook was not connected. I also went into LinkedIn but could find no way that the two might be connected. Interestingly, in my WordPress account Facebook shows up twice. If I deselect one, the other also deselects. Thoughts?

  Hi there,

  I see multiple Twitter and Facebook connections for your site, to what appears to be the same Twitter and Facebook accounts. I’m thinking if we delete those completely and then reconnect, it might do the trick.

  Please do the following:

  1) Go to My Site ->Sharing and remove the Twitter and Facebook connections there. If you see multiple connections for the same account, remove all of them.

  2) Go to https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=applications and remove WordPress there.

  3) Go to https://twitter.com/settings/applications and revoke access to WordPress.com there as well.

  Once you’ve done that, let me know and I’ll make sure the connections are completely removed on our side as well. If you then reconnect it shouldn’t have the duplicate connections any more.

  So sorry it took so long for me to get to this. I followed these steps for Facebook (Twitter has been posting properly). Please let me know when you’ve taken a look on your side so that I can re-establish the connection. Thanks!

  Okay, there was still a Facebook connection showing, so I deleted that as well.

  Now please clear your browser cache and cookies, log back into Facebook and WordPress.com, and then try reconnecting. Then check what happens when you publish your next post.

  I also notice there are three old Twitter connections in your account, all three for the Twitter account, @LeadingwValues. Should those be there?

  This seems to have worked! Thank you so much!

  For some reason, the system won’t allow me to delete the old twitter accounts. Yes, all @leadingwithvalues should be deleted, if possible.

  Truly appreciate your help cleaning up my accounts!

  Okay, I’ve removed those.

  Thanks for letting me know the Facebook connection works now as well :)
