multiple same day posts

I’m still organizing my thoughts about how to format a new blog; I’m a total newbie and have been self-tutoring so apologize for dumb questions

If you publish multiple posts when you first start in order to get some content from each category, does WP simply continue listing in chronological order? If I want to refer to events that have already happened in posts can I edit the “posted on date” and is that dumb? It seems like it would take me 3 months or more until I had enough posts and pages to make it even worth reading if I limit to “daily pots”.

    Suggestions and advice are appreciated.

    Hello!

By default, WP displays the newest post on top.

The best way to increase traffic to your site is to have engaging content that keep readers coming back for more.

Thanks; I’ve already seen all the relevant tutorials; I guess what I’m asking is who wants to read a new blog with one post, one or two pages and a contact ? I want to know how to start it loaded full of content but make it not seem like 20 posts and 5 pages were all added on the inception date of the first publication.

What have others done when starting up a new blog? Does everyone normally just post for however long it takes until the blog contains enough to fill an archives or top posts widget?

Yes, everyone does that. Just go ahead and start blogging. Nobody is going to mock you for only having one post up if the post is good.

I suppose you could publish a bunch of blogs and then back date them using the Published On feature. That would essentially roll-out your blog.

I would think the vast majority of blogs start making posts and build-up a readership overtime.

Though, the key to readership is engaging content. If you can create 20 posts and 5 pages of engaging content at the start and publicize your blog accordingly, I suppose such a process could “short-cut” the normal route. Assuming that is your goal. In the end, it is all about your purpose and how you connect with readers and viewers.

Thanks everyone for the input. I guess the last dumb question is “what have others found is a good way to start publicizing successfully”? I’ve read enough tutorials; I’d be looking for comments based on personal experience.

On that related note: I only have a FB account and am not really interested in maintaining 5 or more social media sites as the blog is about retiring early as an expat which means no more work; the blog is work enough; sorry, my generation used rotary phones :)

    Thank you everyone
