Multiple social media buttons on a single line in sidebar?
-
I have direct links to Pinterest, Twitter, FB, etc. in my sidebar widgets but boy do they take up a lot of room! I’m sure this subject has been broached before but are there any plans to include a multiple social media button widget so that all links can be lined up horizontally?
Thanks for any consideration and if this question has been asked and answered, I apologize in advance. I couldn’t find it via a search.

You can create one yourself, but as soon as you try you’ll see the difficulty: the buttons, in order to fit, have to be so small they’re difficult to click on.
Some themes have social media buttons built in to the design, usually across the header. The theme search filter should be able to help you find them.

I use a text widget on both of my blogs and have all the images lined up.

Thanks, raincoaster, but I’d like to stay with the theme I’ve used for years.
Timethief, how did you align the buttons horizontally on your blog? I’m familiar with how to add text/image to a widget, but not very CSS savvy. I can’t figure out how you would align them!
Thanks!

I captured images first, reduced them to a small size that would fit into my sidebar width. Then I used these:

I don’t rely on any tutorials that I do not know for a fact are relevant to free hosted WordPress.com blogs.

P.S. It’s hard to answer your because we do not have the code for the buttons you wish to place side by side.
I’m not sure I understand. If I upload the icon image, then add the link to my particular page, what additional code is necessary?

- You create a draft post that you will later delete.
- You upload the images (social networking icons) into the draft post and link each one to your associated profile page on each social network.
- You arrange the icons to your liking on a single in in the draft post.
- You switch to the Text HTML editor and copy the code in the draft post.
- You open a text widget in a new tab and paste the code into it.
- Click “save” and “close” in the text widget.
- Save the draft post in case you need it.
- View the blog sidebar and if the appearance is fine and links work then you can delete the draft post.

Take a look at mine in the footer (left column) on this blog http://thistimethisspace.com

YAY!!! It worked! Simple as can be, too! Thank you so much for the help!
One slight issue is the text box with the icons overlaps the Search box but I can live with that until I figure out how to resize the box.
Awesome!
