Multiple spaces autoconverted to

    I discovered to my dismay that WordPress is auto-converting multiple spaces into   thereby preserving them. Why is it doing that? How is it doing that? And how do I turn it off.

    This should really be something that’s easier to resolve. Half an hour’s worth of research yielded no useful results other than finding confirmationt hat, yes, WP is doing this now.
