Multiple themes under a single domain
-
Hello everybody…
I’m completely new to WordPress and I have a question. I plan to put two types of content into my web site:
1. writings (like blogs) and
2. display my photographs. So I’ll need to have two separate themes, one for the writings (blog) and one to showcase my photography which’ll be a photography based theme.
I was wondering if it is possible to do something like below.
My web site: http://www.abcd.com to have two links (buttons) on the home page. These two links will take the viewer to my blog or photography theme depending on the viewer’s choice. Is this possible to do while being in the same domain http://www.abcd.com?
Many thanks..!

Hi,
It’s not possible to use two themes on a website. But not to worry, because WordPress supports many custom post formats out of the box. You can, for example, choose the “Standard” format for your blog posts, and “Image” format for images.
https://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-formats/You can create a separate category for your blog posts and one for your images. Next, you can create a menu, add the links to these categories to the menu, and place the menu in your theme. That way, visitors will be able to browse just through your posts or your images by clicking on the appropriate menu link.

https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/Your site’s front page will show your latest posts (including images and standard posts) in reverse chronological order, but you can choose to display a static page if you wish to.
