multiple users in one blog?
-
Is it possible to include multiple users who have access to one blog so that whomever writes a post, their different user name will appear as the author? I’m trying a blog with my sisters in different states, and presently we have the same user name, same password to access blog–which means that to distinguish who wrote what we need to include our own name in each entry. Is there a way to approach this differently?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes, it’s easy. You need to pick a theme that displays the author name, though, and your sister needs her own WP.com account, with her own separate email. She has to go to the registration page at http://wordpress.com and sign up, but she should choose “just a username” not “Gimme a blog” in the options. Then you Invite her from the dashboard of the blog, under Users. You have to send the invitation to her WP username or the email associated with her new account.
Then put the Author widget in your sidebar so people can click on each of your names to get all of your posts. Once she accepts the invitation, you can even go back and edit her old posts to change the author to her new ID.

Hi, I’ve done that, and I have a new author on my blog. He’s shown as “accepted” in invite users page, but he doesn’t appear at the all users page, or the authors list of the blog neither. Am I missing something?

Hi Raincoaster, thank you so much for your detailed response. Both of my sisters have their accounts and have accepted my invitation to be authors. I was wondering how to edit their old posts to reflect the new IDs…it isn’t as apparent as I’d like it to be. I’ve been tooling around for some time now and haven’t unlocked the answer myself.
Thanks,
Lorien
