Multiple views of the home page by single visitors without referrer

Hello! I am the main manager of a wp website and this has been going on for some time: repeatedly, we receive for example 10 or 20 views of the homepage from visitors without referrers who very probably do not speak the language used (foreign countries, different languages) and do not click on anything. Of course, they can be using VPNs. But the strangest part here is not the origin of the visitors or the absence of a referrer per se. I’m well-aware that privacy plugins can hide the referrer (as do most “autosurf” websites, unfortunately). As for people knowing the whole address by heart and typing it ten or twenty times in a row, no. It’s complete nonsense, nobody would do that, especially not someone from the Antipodes. Yes, the strange part is the snapping away at the home page. Why would someone from Poland or New Zealand reopen the same home page 10 or 20 times in a row? It doesn’t seem normal to me. Typically, real people 1/come from somewhere (say, Wikipedia or Facebook, or Google), 2/are from the same region or at least speak the same language, 3/read ONE article (say the Interview of X, because they’re only interested in one thing)… For example, a U.S. citizen comes from the article Mel Croucher on Wikipedia and lands on the Interview featured on the site. Often he comes back because he’s not finished reading it, or he liked it, or he wants to retrieve an information there. But people don’t come out of nowhere to open, and reopen and open the home page again! What do you think? Thank you very much in advance for your answer (and sorry for my broken English!)

I’m not sure I have an answer for you on that. I’ve seen that on my own site as well.

If you can give me a couple links to posts where this has happened, I can investigate a bit further for you.
