Multiple WP.com hostings on cloudflare

  • Unknown's avatar

I am a developer, and I currently have my domain on go daddy, nameservers pointing to cloudflare.

I want to have WP installed on mydomain.com/he, while keeping mydomain.com and the other subdomains on cloudflare, i.e. api.mydomain.com

In the future, I will want to add another separate WP installation on mydomain.com or mydomain.com/en

    My questions are:

    1. What’s the best way to do so?
    2. Is 1 WP hosting plan enough for multiple hostings?
    3. Should I transfer the domain to WP or keep it on godaddy?
    4. I see that on WP Business plan it says “install WP plugins” on the feature list. Does that mean that if I go for a lower plan like “premium”, I will NOT be able to install plugins?
    5. Are there any benefits in hosting on WP.com as opposed to any of the other hosting options like go daddy, blue host, etc?

    Thanks in advance,
    Adam

  • Hi Adam, I’m happy to answer all those questions!

I want to have WP installed on mydomain.com/he

This is not possible on WordPress.com. WordPress can only be installed on root domains and subdomains.

Is 1 WP hosting plan enough for multiple hostings?

Currently, we don’t have multi-site plans. So, you’ll have to purchase a plan for each site.

Should I transfer the domain to WP or keep it on godaddy?

It doesn’t matter. It’s best, though to keep everything (domain and site) under one roof. It makes managing them easier.

I see that on WP Business plan it says “install WP plugins” on the feature list. Does that mean that if I go for a lower plan like “premium”, I will NOT be able to install plugins?

That’s right. Business and eCommerce are the only plans where you can install plugins.

Are there any benefits in hosting on WP.com as opposed to any of the other hosting options like go daddy, blue host, etc?

We are a managed hosting provider that specializes in WordPress sites. This means that we take care of all the WordPress and server updates and the security for all the sites hosted on our platform. This is so that you can focus on creating content for your site and not worry about any maintenance tasks.

If you have any other questions, just let me know and I’ll be happy to help.
