Muscat theme colors

Hi there,
i am just starting to set up a simple site using Muscat theme. I am looking for a consistent green background, but i keep finding areas of black which seem to be backgrounds to containers and i don’t see how to change this so that there is just one background color for an entire page. Is this a ‘custom style’ the only applies if i upgrade?
