  Free option:
  Embed audio and video files by uploaded to third party sites like SoundCloud and YouTube respectively.

  Here’s the guide to embed video from YouTube: https://en.support.wordpress.com/videos/youtube/

  Other supported sites to embed videos are given here:
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/videos/

  Paid Option:
  If you do not want to use third party services and want to host your videos and audio files here on WordPress.COM then you can upgrade to a paid WordPress.COM Premium or Business plan which enables you to upload .mp3, .m4a, .ogg, or .wav files to your blog/site.

  And for videos, you can use VideoPress.
