Music allowed?

Hey guys,
in my blog http://musictheorist.wordpress.com i’m writing about music and i would like to present one audio file in each entry (in the music-player). the music would be from my own itunes-media.
am i allowed to do this (copyrights etc.)?

You must seek permission from the copyright holder before posting music that was created by someone other than you. Recording industry lawyers regularly issue us with takedown notices requiring the removal of mp3 files from WordPress.com, and links to unauthorized copies hosted elsewhere. We are legally obliged to comply with those orders regardless of whether or not we think they are reasonable.
Some independent musicians are quite willing to allow bloggers to post their music, but please make sure you get prior written permission (email is fine) – they don’t always tell their lawyers.
Publishing first and asking permission later is breaking copyright law and leaves you open to legal action.
The same goes for text, images, video and all other material that is covered by copyright. These aren’t our rules, it’s the law.
