I added a mp3 file to my blog. It’s a large file (over 60MB) but I have the capacity. It will not play at all. You can download it but it won’t stream. Have I done something wrong here? The file location is http://thegrandview.wordpress.com/2007/11/07/beacon-beat-transmission-101/

It A) depends on the player, and B) may have to author it with hinting for streaming (QuickTime calls this “FastStart”).

Thank you. But in the past, snapshots has been able to stream the mp3. This time, it’s not working. -

I’m afraid I don’t know enough about putting music on blogs, but I know when you try to add pictures that the filename is important; sometimes it can cause problems if it’s not quite right. I don’t see much wrong with it here, but perhaps you could try something shorter and see if that helps?

That would be one way to see if it’s streaming properly, rather than getting people to click through. You could also try uploading it to somewhere like Odeo or ProjectPlaylist and then bringing it over to your blog from there; it might be something on WP’s end that’s stopping it from playing and hosting it somewhere else might help. But again I don’t know enough about music, so hopefully someone else will have a better idea of what’s going on.
