Music player buffering problem
-
Hi from Romania and sorry if I make some of you repeat… I didn’t find exactly the answer on the other topics…
I’m a truly beginner at all computer stuffs. And i’m trying to put a song on my blog on a post. I put it in the HTML tab after i saw it advised in the forum. So i have the player but it’s “buffering” very long time not working.
1) I took my file on JIWA. I think the URL I entered is wrong… I put it this way : [audio http://www.jiwa.fm/#track/1150726%5D
What can I do to have the right adresse with “mp3” at the end?2) I saw that many of you are using Box.net. but it appears to me NOT to be free… I saw : “free only the first 14days etc…”
I’d like to make it simple but I’m definitly bad at it !
Thanks a lot for your help !!
Constance

It’s buffering because that URL will take you to a webpage in which you must click “Play” to hear the music, not to the file itself (probably because that site wants you to see its ads). Try uploading your mp3s in Fileden, from where you can get the DIRECT URLs.

Thanks, i’m trying Fileden right now. i have to register to be able to upload, right?
thx -
sorry… my computer skills AND my english are bad :D
i registered to Fileden, could you tell me how to find URL songs’ files please…..? Do i need to upload files first so as to get access to somebody else’s files? -
Many file hosting services don’t allow direct access (“hotlinking”) to the files themselves, so it might not be possible. You’ll need to check the Fileden documentation or talk to their support people. What you’re looking for is a direct link to the raw mp3 file.

o… maybe i’ve got it all wrong.. the goal is not to take others’files but maybe to upload my own files so that i can have an URL for my files hosted on Fileden and then pu them on WP….
I feel really dumb…:( -
I don’t know about other people’s files. You create an account, then upload files from your computer. Once uploading is over, you get an option for requesting the kind of URL you want. You click “Direct URL”, and that’s the URL you must use for the [audio URL] shortcode.

Sorry, tellyworth’s post wasn’t up when I typed mine. My reply refers to Fileden, which allows “hotlinking”.

YEEEEAAAAAAH !!!!!!!
It’s working , really, and what’s even greater, I’ve finally underestood why !! ;-)
(ok, let’s face it, i’ve been two evenings on it, for something which, fortunately, was not THAT impossible… :D So I guess I really need to improve my computer skills ^o^ )Thanks A LOT Panaghiotisadam and Tellyworth ! it’s great ^^
