Muting the background image on a site
-
I’m using Organic Themes ‘theme’ and have a repetitive image in the background but it’s really taking over. I’m wondering if with basic WordPress (no CSS upgrade) I can alter the code so the background so it is somehow muted and not so prominent.
Thanks!

What you will have to do is to modify the original image and adjust the transparency of the image. Photoshop and Gimp allow this, but if you are using something different from those, you might have to look through the help files for the program and see if it allows you to adjust the transparency.

Thanks so much. That’s helpful. I’m working on a Mac – do you know if there is free editing software for Mac ? Thanks.

Gimp is a great free image editor, and they now have a mac version.
