MX record change disappears when I check it

    Hi,
    The emails for this domain name are not working. Upon checking with the Heart Internet where the domain name is registered they state the following:
    The mailbox was restored correctly from our back-ups however, it appears that your email hosting is pointing to: 192.0.78.24

    Which is an external IP address to our system, your domain’s Name-servers are pointing to:

    Name servers:
    ns1.wordpress.com
    ns2.wordpress.com
    ns3.wordpress.com

    They are the Provider that’s pointing your domain’s Email hosting to: 192.0.78.24

    For this mailbox to begin working you will need to advise them to update your mail A record to point to: 79.170.40.151

    You would also need to ensure that this domain has the following MX records:

    mail.quercus-fs.co.uk. 10
    * mail.quercus-fs.co.uk. 10

    I can see that the MX Record was already pointing to mail.quercus-fs.co.uk. but not to *mail.quercus-fs.co.uk. so I added that.
    I also added the A record mail.quercus-fs.co.uk pointing to 79.170.40.151 but when I looked back to check that I’d typed in everything correctly, the new records had disappeared. I repeated the process and once again they disappeared.
    Am I doing something wrong?
    Thanking you in anticipation.
    Lisa
