MX record / Domain mapping

  I mapped my domain amblesidemedia.com to wordpress, an now I cannot receive email. My net provider said to contact my DNS provider and update my domain MX record to mx-mg.netfirms.com .

  How do I do this, as I really need my email!!

  You can add MX records using the Store → Domains → Edit DNS page.

  I checked the Edit DNS page for your primary domain amblesidemedia.com and I found that you have an MX record for mg.netfirms.com already.

  Meaning I entered it correctly, and should be able to receive email ???

  Exactly. But also, it does take a little while for DNS updates like that to propagate, so you may want to wait an hour or so after making changes to test.

  Was the mail server supposed to be mg.netfirms.com or mx-mg.netfirms.com ?

  Netfirms told me, mx-mg.netfirms.com

  I just added the MX 10, as that was what i saw in the example. Is this correct???

  Sorry for my ignorance… I shoot video, and am not overly good on the web.

  Ah, it’s not quite correct. You do need to add MX and a priority first (10 works), but you added the domain as mg.netfirms.com not mx-mg.netfirms.com. Try updating it to this on the Edit DNS page:

  MX 10 mx-mg.netfirms.com.
