MX record not propogating
-
I have my personal domain (prestoconsulting.com.au) with Vodien. On 6 June 2019, I mapped my wordpress domain to my personal domain. I updated the MX record as per Vodien’s instructions (https://help.vodien.com/articles/how-to-map-your-vodien-registered-domain-with-wordpress/). Since then, I have not received any emails.
I have been on Tech Support on both ends –
Vodien are adamant they have given me the correct settings (MX record: mail.prestoconsulting.com.au with priority 0) but are saying WordPress has not propogated the MX record (https://dnschecker.org/#MX/prestoconsulting.com.au is indicating it doesn’t exist);
Wordpress are saying the MX record is not correct, and after chatting with them on 7 June, changed the MX record to drs01.turboservers.com.au (Which is what Vodien provided as their mail server URL).It is now 10 June, and I am STILL NOT RECEIVING EMAILS. This is my business email and I need to have this working! Help please!

Hi there,
Your domain has an MX record for
mail.prestoconsulting.com.aupointing todrs01.turboservers.com.au.with a priority0Using another tool, https://www.whatsmydns.net/#MX/mail.prestoconsulting.com.au, I can see that MX record active on your site, and if I run a
digquery from the command line I also see that record as I should. So from this end everything looks fine.I do notice you have both a MX and an A record set up on the
mail.subdomain. That is not a typical DNS setup for email, and it’s possible those two records are causing a conflict with one another. Is this how you were instructed to add them by your email provider? The link you gave above only mentions adding an MX record, nothing about an A record.Please try removing that A record, and see if that makes any difference.
Unrelated, but I wouldn’t recommend using an email address that depends on your domain registration as the email address for your WordPress.com account. Should the domain expire, or something else go wrong with the email, you wouldn’t be able to receive important account notices from us, nor would you be able to contact us from that email address for help with your account. Please consider using a different email for your WordPress.com account that you’d be able to access even if your domain were to stop working.
