MX Record problem
-
I recently mapped an existing domain hosted by 1and1 (smr-web.com) to my content at smrweb.wordpress.com. This now functions properly and visitors typing in smr-web.com into their browser are automatically redirected to the smrweb.wordpress.com content. However, I am having difficulty redirecting emails addressed to the smr-web.com domain back to the 1and1 mail service.
As instructed, I have added 2 MX records as follows:
mx00.1and1.com (with a priority of 10)
mx01.1and1.com (with a priority of 10)1and1 tech support has assured me that I don’t need to add any CNAME records to support the redirecting of email service back to 1and1.
The mx records showing on my domain administration page now show as:
mx00.1and1.com.smr-web.com
mx01.1and1.com.smr-web.comAfter more than 24 hours, email addressed to the smr-web.com domain is still not being routed back to the 1and1 mail service.
Can you advise what additional information might be needed to correctly customize my DNS records?
Thanks!

Hi Bill,
It looks like you had your MX records set up slightly incorrect. I went in and updated them and it should now work for you just fine.
I wanted to let you know however that now that I’ve made this change, the forwarding which you had set up with us (to your bestpracticesforbusiness.com account) is not going to work any longer.
Let me know if there are any troubles or if you have any questions!

Seems to be working fine now. Thanks so much for your help with this. I really appreciate it!
