MX-Records
-
Hi there,
I’ve recently set up my domain to map straight to the wordpress page, but changing the nameservers for the domain has meant that I can’t access my mail account for the site any more. I contacted my host (one.com) and they’ve said that to continue to use my mail account, I needed to ask you to change the MX-Records to:
mx-cluster-b1.one.com
mx-cluster-b2.one.comI wondered if you would be able to do that for me?
The IP address to my Mail Storage is 193.202.110.224. I don’t know if you need that or not.
Thanks in advance :)
Jack

You can add your MX records via your Custom DNS panel: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/custom-dns/
Unfortunately, we can’t provide support for all email configurations, so you may need to use Google Apps for Domains instead: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/google-apps-email/

Thank you for your reply manmanx.
Unfortunately I’m terribly stupid with this type of stuff – can I just add the..
mx-cluster-b1.one.com
mx-cluster-b2.one.com..bits into the custom DNS box or do I need to edit them to your format? I’m not sure what I need to put into that box.

The MX records will need a priority number.
You’ll need to ask your email provider for the proper format.

The MX records are set.
If it doesn’t work, we may not be able to suppor their email configuration, so you may have to use Google Apps for Domains instead: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/google-apps-email/
