MX records didn't update

  I was helping a friend set up a site on wordpress.com.
  We successfully set up the domain, however after we added the mx and “a mail” records, the changes didn’t show up in an mx lookup, even after 8hrs.

  The records’ fields we added were:
  A: [mail.thevictorycollective.com.au] [points to 203.170.87.177]
  MX: [mail.thevictorycollective.com.au] [mail handled by victorycollective.com.au. with priority 10]

  The mx lookup always showed “No records found”. The url victorycollective.com.au was correctly resolving to the wordpress site (I.e. the domains dns settings were correctly set to wordpres, even though they aren’t at the time of writing this, so that my friend can continue to recieve mail).

  Can you think of any reason this wouldn’t be working?

  Ok, does wordpress offer another avenue of support besides this forum?
