mx records for domain email

  • Unknown's avatar

When I purchased a domain name from godaddy.com and began using it on my wordpress blog, the email attached to the domain was “de-activated”. Support at godaddy said you need to “move the mx records” to fix the problem, and I can access my email again.

Please let me know how and when this will be corrected, and if you need any further info from me.

Thank you in advance for your promt attention to this matter.

    Could you try this?

    1. Go to Upgrades > Domains in your Dashboard.

    2. Click “Edit DNS” button on the right of your domain name.

    3. In the text box, paste the code below:

    MX 0 smtp.secureserver.net.
    MX 10 mailstore1.secureserver.net.

    4. Hit the save button.

Please allow 4-8 hours for .COM and .NET domains and about 24-48 hours for all other domain extensions for these changes to complete.
