MX Records need updating for email on my mapped domain
-
Hello,
I wanted to post this in staff questions but it wouldn’t let me. A very simply one really – I don’t know what is the most efficient way of asking but anyway:
I have a domain and it’s mapped to my wordpress account so I just need the MX records updating to allow my domain email to work.
According to GoDaddy the MX records need changing to this:
Priority 0: smtp.europe.secureserver.net
Priority 10: mailstore1.europe.secureserver.netHope someone can help!
Thanks

Yes sure,
Go to “domains” in the left menu of your console. Against your mapped domain there should be a link “Edit Dns”. Follow this and you can edit your entries. If there are any old lines starting “MX” remove them, then add two lines:MX 1 SMTP.EUROPE.SECURESERVER.NET.
MX 10 .MAILSTORE1.EUROPE.SECURESERVER.NET.Then click “Save DNS Records”.
Note:
- WordPress sets up its DNS names in upper case so I have changed yours. This might not be necessary.
- Also I have used priority 1 instead of 0, as I am not sure that 0 is valid.
- It could take up to 72 hours for the change top propagate over the web. You can check the progress at http://www.whatsmydns.net/

Aha, thank you! I did look at the help page but when I got to Edit DNS it wouldn’t save, but obviously it needed setting up in the way you said.
It’s saved now so hopefully it should go through in the day few days!
Thanks again
