My 3 year old, popular blog got suspended and I have no idea why.
-
My blog was capitalactive.wordpress.com. I have been working on it for over three years. I have written over 200 blogs that took me over 1000 hours to write. I had many people going there and then today it just went dead. I have no idea why. Nothing was copied from others. I did not receive any notice, anything. I have helped many people start to blog and I have always suggested wordpress, and this is the thanks I get.
So is there any hope? Do you think I can get it back?

You did not specify a blog address or reason for posting when you created this topic.
This support forum is for WordPress.com hosted blogs only. If you have a self-hosted WordPress blog you need to seek help at the WordPress.org forums, not here.

You have to contact staff directly via the link in your dashboard or through http://support.wordpress.com/contact/ .

You need to contact Support with the link provided in the warning message. Wait for a reply. This is a volunteer forum. We cannot help you with any specifics regarding your blog. Only Support can.

I did contact support, no word back from them. I was mostly asking if there is any hope….. also does anyone know of a valid phone number that I can call and talk to support?
-
There is hope. Be patient and wait for staff to get back to you. It might be 12 hours or so.
-
OK. Hope is what I was looking for.
I have an idea of what it could be. Basically I have many clients I make web pages for, a few of them wanted blogs and two of them wanted me to do much of the work in setting up their blog, so I did it under my account, and I set them to also be admins. Maybe they did something and wordpress went crazy and removed all of my blogs, not just the one that had the problem. They really should warn people, I think it would make people happier. This method is just rude.

Well it has been about 6 hours and no word back from them. I am starting to get worried. I really need this blog up, it was my way to vent, and to make myself feel happy about the world and get feedback with my ideas. Without it I feel bad.

We-all people who answer questions in the forums here are volunteers, and as such we do not have access to the back-end technical workings of WordPress.com. Staff checks in here once in a while, but you will only get definitive advice by contacting staff and waiting for an answer/explanation. Genuine communication will only happen via your discussion with wp staff. -
I did contact them. Still no word back from then and it has been over 18 hours now. How do you get ahold of WP staff other than just the little web form that I filled out? Any ideas….does anyone have a phone number, that would be nice.

There is no phone number to call. A modlook tag has been placed on this post. So soon someone will see this post of yours and hopefully reply. But it can take a day or two for them to reply back through email. So hopefully they’ll see this quicker. There is hope because many have gotten their blogs back after talking it through with staff.

Chill – I know it’s frustrating, but it can take a day to get a reply in my experience. Once the dialogue is under way things will go faster.
By the way – does anyone know if the sambauers staff response is automatically generated,as it pops up even when the blog address is clearly displayed in the body of the text?
-
It is automatically triggered when someone does not choose their blog URL from the pulldown when writing their initial post.
-
get a life, it sounds like your daily routine revolves around this blog. Go outside and get some fresh air for 3 days, come back and im sure staff will have responded by then.

OK I did get a reply from them. They said I violated the part that says this….
“Affiliate marketing blogs: Blogs with the primary purpose of driving traffic to affiliate programs and get-rich-quick schemes”
My reply was this…..
OK so the blog was capitalactive.wordpress.com What content on there did you not like? This blog talks about MLM busineses in maybe 4-5 entries but from a analytical perspective, most of the content of the blog is 100% unrelated to MLM businesses. It is mostly about real estate, or computers or my general thoughts on the business or the economy. So WHY was it banned………. your TOS says ” Blogs with the primary purpose of driving traffic to affiliate programs and get-rich-quick schemes……” this was NOT one of those blogs. NOT SUBJECT TO THIS PART OF THE TOS……Please get back to me asap…and please restore the site. If you have any questions simply read the blog……it is obvious to anyone who spends more than 30 seconds looking at it.
——-end of reply————So basically I mentioned a few MLM’s in some of the entries, and I had a link to one on one of the pages, but that was WAY less than 5% of the content, there is no way that you can say that this was the “Primary Purpose” of the blog.
And cello85, yes I do need more of a life I guess. it was not everything to me, but I did often think of what to say, I also build up about 200 people who follow it, and I got many hits each day.
And ronsrealm it is auto generated for sure….it poped up only seconds after I posted the first one.

Can’t you remove that link and be forgiven? Surely the damage can be repaired? Mistakes do happen…
