My Account

I sent this email on 12/2020 to cancel my account. I received a refund in 2020.

Why did I receive a charge to my credit card again in 12/2021?

“ I was billed in December for $103–I want to cancel my account. When I log in, and go to Manage, I get a message that says no billing for December. I’m assuming I’m using the incorrect email address but I don’t know the workaround. The charge on my credit card statement has no identifying transaction number. This is very frustrating! I’d like to cancel my account and receive a refund. “

  • Hey there, I don’t see that email, but I do see you contacted us last year:
    https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/billing-671/

We didn’t hear back. We don’t see charges on this account, either, and we’d need some kind of lead or link to be able to advise you of your next steps.

Alternatively, can you use the form at wpchrg.com to locate the charge? Once you’ve found it, you can contact billing from there.

My charge on my bank statement reads:

    [redacted]

When I put this information into your suggested website, it says no charges found

  • I don’t think that this transaction is associated with our service. Do you have a website that is associated with that charge? If you do, what’s its address so I can have a look?

I responded and no one answered me back and of course there’s no live person to speak with

Can someone get back to me???

  • Hi there,

We replied to you on 7 January and never heard back from you until today.

Please don’t post sensitive information like a partial credit card number here. This is a public forum.

It looks like that charge is for the site, dustgotosleep.wordpress.com, that belongs to the WordPress.com account, dustgotosleep.

You have provided sufficient evidence that you paid for the upgrade, so I’ve gone ahead and processed the refund. As this was a PayPal payment, the refund should be reflected in your PayPal account later today, though it might take longer to reflect on your credit card statement, as that depends on the processing times at your bank.

If you’ve forgotten about that account and would like to regain access to it, please follow our account recovery process at https://wordpress.com/en/support/account-recovery/. You can get the transaction ID you need to verify ownership of the account directly in the PayPal account that was used to pay for that upgrade.
