my account and website has disappeared
-
hi i have run a wordpress plugin on my one.com hosted oxsummerschools.com and oxsummerschools.co.uk website for the last 3 years, i am the web admin. i was alerted today that my websites have disappeared so when i’ve gone to log into wordpress my username and email aren’t recognised? i’ve no emails or account notification to say this is the case, whether i’ve been hacked or what? my one.com help chat says the wordpress plugin has an error but i’ve no way of correcting it. my last admin changes were only around 6 weeks ago so no idea what’s gone wrong. please help me restore my sites!

We can’t help you as those sites aren’t running on the wordpress.com platfom. According to whois info they are hosted by one.com meaning they use the open source wordpress.org. Their support is at wordpress.org/support.

i appreciate that but how does it explain my wordpress account no longer works/exists? I have had to create one in order to access the support pages. how do you contact someone at wordpress for help?

Hi there, You’re posting to the support forums for free websites hosted on WordPress.com, the web hosting provider. Because your site is using the open source WordPress software hosted with one.com, we aren’t really able to assist. here. More about this here: https://jetpack.com/2018/04/12/why-wordpress-account-jetpack/
You can get help for your site from one.com directly. https://help.one.com/
If they say this is a WordPress problem, head over to https://wordpress.org/support/ where you’ll find documentation and users who have more experience with the software you are using. If you don’t have a username on the ORG forums you can register one on the top of that page.

Hi @massextreemage,
To add to what was noted above, a plugin conflict on your site may have caused issues, making your site inaccessible. Your host would be in the best position to support you with that, though you can learn more about troubleshooting plugins here: https://wordpress.org/support/article/managing-plugins/#troubleshooting
When I load both URL’s, your site comes up for me now:
Moving forward, should a similar issue arise, I suggest using the Health Check plugin to check for plugin/theme conflicts. You can install it by following this link: https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check
You can use its troubleshooting mode to deactivate all plugins for your browsing session only (other site visitors will not be affected). Once installed, you can access troubleshooting mode by going to Tools → Site Health.
Hope that helps!
