My account has been misplaced by wordpress

    Hello

    Wordpress has lost our account, so I can’t get a new password, and I can’t log in to arrange for an appointment. I am extremely meticulous about record-keeping, but for some unknown reason I can’t find emails with transaction ids, etc. I hope this doesn’t sound snippy, but please don’t respond with simplistic answers of where to look. It may be my fault that the emails have gone missing, but I have looked everywhere, both in the co-op’s email and in my backup email. Yes, in Spam and Trash as well (though emails in both are automatically deleted (sent to /dev/null) after thirty days).

    In December 2019 the co-op purchased a URL to move from xxxx.wordpress.com to xxxx-uk.org, and I do have an email from WordPress about that purchase. However, without an account, and without a transaction id, it seems to be impossible to actually get in touch with a human being in WordPress to explain the situation.

    Does anyone have any ideas of how to contact a human being at WordPress?

    I don’t think WordPress.com has done anything with your account. You just need to log out of this new account and log back in to the correct account with username and password to reach your site:
    https://wordpress.com/forums/users/CoHoWM/
    https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/

    Hi Magic Robot,

    Thanks for your help. I’ve just successfully gotten through password change with (email visible only to moderators and staff), which felt like a great relief. But that just logs me in to a temporary account, which I didn’t particularly want to set up, and which doesn’t have my site associated with it.

    I still don’t have access to the website https://cohowm-uk.org that I need.

    Thoughts?

    How about:

    You just need to log out of this new account and log back in to the correct account with username and password to reach your site:

    You’re still logged in (and presumably changing the password for) the cohowm2043f9de8c account when you need to be logged in to the cohowm account. That will be under a different email address.
