my admin area is blocked after trying to change my password

  Please suggest how I may gain access to my admin area for my website. I need to change the password. A freelancer is doing repairs to my new wordpress based website which has been hacked. Now I can’t get back in after making a mistake while setting my password. Very frustrating.

  Hi there,

  I’m assuming you’re not speaking of http://calvinnichollspaperart2015.wordpress.com/, as WordPress.com sites are accessed via a WordPress.com account, and don’t have separate admin passwords for the sites themselves.

  If this is for a site not hosted on WordPress.com, we cannot help with this. The password for that site has no connection to your WordPress.com account, but is stored in your site’s database on your hosting provider’s servers. We don’t have any access there to help you reset it.
