My administrator email is no longer accessible, how can I transfer the account?
-
I have a blog, Orphic Public Radio, that’s connected to an old email that was used during graduate school. The blog owner and I were trying to transfer it from her account to mine, but she’s no longer able to access the email account where the “confirm transfer” email was sent. Any way around this? Thanks!

Hi there. Well, we’ll need more information. First of all, can you give us the URL of the blog?
I assume that you’ve both already tried, without success, to log in to your blog. Correct?

We can log into the blog just fine, which is http://orphicpublicradio.wordpress.com/
However, the email account is what’s locked out. The email account is no longer active. I want to transfer ownership over to my active email account so I can have full access to administrative stuff. There are no problems with access, I just want it hooked up to my email so any updates and such will come through me and not disappear into a defunct email account.

Okay. That’s great. First of all, let’s make sure that you are designated as administrator. From your dashboard, go to “Users,” then “All Users.” Find yourself in the list and make sure that your role is administrator.
As for transferring ownership, this part will have to be done by the current owner of the blog. She should update her e-mail address first, so that she can receive the confirmation e-mail.

Excellent, that’s all we needed! Just updated the email and then we were able to access what we needed to access. Thank you much!
