My "author" link has vanished.

  Hello and thank you for your attention =).

  A couple of days ago I noticed that when you view any post, the author link is missing atop. Like where it says “posted on (date) by (author name), the author name is missing and i was wondering if you could please help me restore this link atop each post as it seems to be site~wide as no author link appears atop any post on the blog =(. I’ve viewed other WordPress sites and they all have their author links (writtten by) appearing atop all of their posts.

  The author link automatically shows up when there are multiple authors on the blog, it hides when there is only one.

  Thank you matt for your reply to my concern =).

  The link really used to be there though, until just a few days ago and i think less than a week ago. I’ve changed one post to “private” so that you can see a cached view of it as it appeared previously before those links vanished from every post:

  The “author” written by link is atop the post and you can view it in the post cached above. Since I’ve been on WordPress moving from Vox for over a year now those “author” links have always appeared above every post with a single author there. It has only now recently vanished mysteriously. Could it have something to do with the site’s “source codes?” Just a guess as I’m not sure but I’m thinking you may be able to remedy this odd change which wasn’t desired.

  We made the switch to this new behavior on all themes quite a while ago.

  A lot of single-authors blogger were not happy with the fact that their name kept appearing on ever single post, despite there being no other authors on the blog. Hiding it was a common request.

  As a result, the author is only displayed with posts on blogs with more than one published author.

  Thank you for the explanation =). I hadn’t noticed it while i wasn’t posting very often recently….i was just like where did it go :P.

  I do like the author links though so maybe i could get a friend to post here too in the future ^ ^.
