  Hello. I have one big problem. I paid your package for 80€ 2 days ago, but I canceled it yesterday. So I lost also my domain name. I did what I did already… But how can I fix this now? I thought I could register the same domain again, but I cannot. I decided to cancel wordpress.com package especially because I cannot use plugins here. So I will go to wordpress.org… Can you please help me out. Can you make my domain available again somehow so I can register it on other host company? What can I do? I really want this domain… Please help me.

  Hi Lara,

  When you cancel a domain from WordPress.com, it is sent back to the registrar. At that point, it is up to the registrar to determine when and if it will be released again for purchase. Normally, domains are released within 7-10 days and can be purchased again at another registrar.

  If you would like, I can contact the registrar to get the domain restored to your WordPress.com account. Please note, the domain would be registered at WordPress.com, and you would not be able to transfer it to another registrar for 60 days. However, during that period, you could map the domain to your self-hosted site while still leaving it registered with WordPress.com. Would that work? Otherwise, you will need to wait to see if the domain becomes available again.
