My avatar won’t change

I’ve changed my avatar photo on my profile, but everytime I comment I still have my old picture. This has been so for quite a while now and I don’t know what to do.

This support forum is for WordPress.com hosted blogs only. If you have a self-hosted WordPress blog you need to seek help at the WordPress.org forums, not here.

Oh, in response to my own post, I can see that my image is changed here, but it is not changed when I post on other WordPress blogs (e.g. here: http://cruciality.wordpress.com/2009/04/12/david-bentley-hart-on-the-rude-interruption/). I still don’t know why.

When you change an avatar, it takes a while for it to make its way through all of the wordpress system. The first place you will see the change will be here in the forums. Give it a few hours and it should be appearing on comments and such.

Hello guys I’m quite new here, how do i change my avatar photo? i have read that i can change it through my profile in the dashboard but i can’t seem to find it anywhere there. where do i change it? help please.

Your best bet is, while logged into wordpress, go to http://en.gravatar.com/ go to “my account” and then select “add an image.”
Here at wordpress.COM, you can also change it at users > your profile and it will be on the upper right under “my gravatar,” but this method has been iffy lately. Going directly to Gravatar is the best.
It will typically take a few hours for it to make it through the wordpress system and it will change here in the forums first and then after that start showing up on your comments and such.

Describe “iffy.” Whenever I’m in profile and click on the change my avatar, a screen opens, but it’s blank. I’ve tried in both Firefox and Safari browsers. Any ideas?
In the meantime, I’ll go to the gravatar site.

I’m guessing “iffy” means doesn’t work. I supposedly changed my Avatar about four weeks ago and I’ve still got the old one. I shall try the Gravatar business.
