My background colour has changed! Help!

I have just looked at my site for the first time in a couple of weeks (I’ve been busy!) and am shocked to find the background is now white. I didn’t change it so I don’t know how it happened – is there a chance there could be an issue with the theme that I’m using which is ‘stay’ and this will be amended or is it something I have inadvertently done?
How to I revert back t the colour it was a couple of weeks ago?

I don’t see a white background. I see a patterned background tiled over the background. islamic-star-sophie-more-pinks

Apologies – this is my poor use of the correct jargon. I mean the white area that is now behind the header and header widget area and then stretches down the primary sidebar and around the main page. It used to be a darker colour pinky/red that blended with my colour scheme and Im not sure what I have done to change it!

If anyone can assist me I would be very grateful – I have been through everything I understand in the customizing section and cannot see how I have changed this part of the page white – or more importantly how to change it back again! Many thanks.

I find the white background more readable (personally), but looking at the Internet Archive capture of your site from last year, I do see what you mean.

I’m seeing several community members who are using the Stay theme reporting a change in color issue, so I’ve tagged this for Staff input.
Please be patient while waiting for them to reply and don’t bump this thread unless you have new information to give them. Threads marked for their assistance are normally handled on an age basis and bumping the thread pushes it down in the queue.

residencearabesque, I think this was our mistake. We tried updating the theme based on another user request, and it had some unexpected side effects. That change was reverted soon after the mistake was found, but it looks like a few themes might have gotten stuck with the wrong color code on the main content area element. I’m not sure why that happened, but I’ve made an update to your custom CSS to fix the problem since I believe it was caused by our mistake.
