my blavater and traffic to my blog

please i need help on these issues:
1) i uploaded a new image (a pic);by clicking on setting and then general. but uptill now it has not started appearing on the posts that i’ve previously made (it hasn’t started appearing at all).is this normal, otherwise what could i have done wrong.
2) Does putting my blogs under Categories increase traffic/give it more exposure? if yes please give me a hint on the best way to categorise.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

i’ve figured out the (1) after i read another post.i saw my mistkake. i should have gone to user and not settings. as you can see the picture is appearing now beside my post.
i still hope someone can help me with question(2) if putting my blogs under Categories increase traffic/give it more exposure? if yes please give me a hint on the best way to categorise.

Consider linking your name to your blog, as explained in the yellow sticky post on top:
“2. How to make your name link to your blog:
Go into your dashboard -> users -> your profile -> then scroll down to ‘contact info’. In the spot where it says ‘website’ fill in the address of your blog and save the changes.
Now… when you comment here and on other blogs, your name will link to your blog.
