  I am trying to start this up. One question left here today – there is a button to click on the right side of my blog page (if I were a viewer) – it doesnt say what it is, but when you click it, it opens the top part of the page & shows the about me & follow info.
  Do I have to change my theme again to get that little button to SAY ABOUT ME, and to say FOLLOW me?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Do you mean the (+) Follow button in the bottom–right corner?

  That button is always present to visitors that are not logged into WordPress.com.

  You can, however, add a Follow Blog Widget:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/follow-blog-widget/

  Your theme will limit where you can put this widget.
