My blog and my dashboard have been reduced in small format

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello.
I installed photos in the widget “Photos” Whether the visual of my blog or that of my dashboard they shrunk. So it’s a bit of a pain to read. I thought it came from imported photos on my blog. I just removed the widget with the photos. It’s the same. Where could this change from the visual come from? Good afternoon !!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There are a couple of possible explanations:

    1. you have accidentally zoomed your browser, meaning you’ve reduced the magnification of the browser itself. If you have a PC you can hit Ctrl + 0 to return it to its default setting. Not being a Mac user I can’t tell you the equivalent.

    2. you are copying and pasting from a text document with formatting

Let me know how #1 goes and then we can move to #2

I had already done CTRL + 0 before posting this message. It did not work. I just did it again. It’s always the same. The problem has not been resolved.
I made a pasted copy as you suggest. The problem is still not resolved.
By cons when I am in the form to write an article, everything is normal. It is when I validate the publication that my article is very small.
On my other wordpress site I do not have this problem, so it must be a bad manipulation that I had to make on my site petanquedesaintavre
To all tell you it is at the moment that I imported pictures in my widget of my right column that I perceived of this problem. Are I doing the correct manipulations to import these photos? Are not there too many pictures?

  • Unknown's avatar

When I look at your site the text is the same size as the demo site.

To all tell you it is at the moment that I imported pictures in my widget of my right column that I perceived of this problem. Are I doing the correct manipulations to import these photos? Are not there too many pictures?

I’ve looked at your site and so far the only photos I found are the ones added automatically in the “blogs I follow” and “my community” widgets.

On what page is the photos widget you are referring to?

Are you referring to the Gallery widget https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/gallery-widget/ or something else?

  • Unknown's avatar

It is normal that you do not see the photos of the widget. I deleted the widget and the photos. I will post this widget with photos in the column of dtoite for you to see. To put this widget I clicked on “Appearance” -> widget.

  • @petanquedesaintavre could you do that and also get screenshots? You can upload them to a new post or just paste them to cloudup.com and link here.

  • I think I may see what you mean; you’re using a multi-column gallery in a sidebar. Have you thought about using a slideshow instead?

Or about having a separate gallery page so people can really look at the images?

  • Unknown's avatar

After installing my “Gallery” widget I uploaded my photos from the widget. I chose “In Slide Show” (Drop-down menu). What could that be?
I tried with the browser “Opera” it works normally. I see my blog full screen. I use “Mozilla” as a browser, I’ve emptied the cache, it’s always the same, I always see my blog as my screenshot shows.
It is strange that my blog petanquedesaintavre that there is this problem. Elsewhere it works very well. Here is my screenshot.

Are you referring to the empty space on both sides? How does the Motif demo site appear to you? https://motifdemo.wordpress.com/

Here’s how I see your site and the demo site on my monitor’s 1280×1024 resolution (temp screenshots)

    What is your monitor’s resolution?

  • Unknown's avatar

Yes, I’m talking about spaces on both sides. The font in the middle column is very small. Not easy to read easily.
A question, if I put another theme to post then the theme “Reason” is what it could modify something?

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi again, in order to understand better the issue, please answer my above questions:

Did you look at the Motif demo site I linked to?

Does it look the same to you as your site with the large empty spaces on either site?

Did you look at the screenshots I provided where on a smaller screen resolution the theme fills the screen?

    What is your screen resolution?

  • Unknown's avatar

Regarding your other question, I am not certain I understood you. Can you please give more information.

  • Unknown's avatar

No I have not watched the demo “Motif”.
The theme “Motif” has no space left and right as the actual visual of my blog. Here are the two screenshots for you to see my problem.

    Screenshot Theme “Pattern”

“Regarding your other question, I am not certain I understood you. Can you please give more information.”
That is to say ? What question ?
    http://zupimages.net/viewer.php?id=17/08/l085.png

Yes, I looked at your screenshots.

I still have to tell you that when I created this blog there was no problem visual side. The problem came later. If there was a resolution problem it would be since the beginning of the blog’s creation. No ?

To find the resolution how should I do?

  • Unknown's avatar

Theme Motif: The screenshot you provided is a preview of the theme from within the wp-admin dashboard, not a site using the theme itself.

The link I provided to view Motif was https://motifdemo.wordpress.com/ which is a demo site using your theme. When you look at that link, does it also appear to you with a large empty space on both sides of the central column?

To find the resolution how should I do?

You can find your computer’s screen resolution by looking at its settings.

The question I didn’t fully understand was :

A question, if I put another theme to post then the theme “Reason” is what it could modify something?

  • Unknown's avatar

  • Unknown's avatar

I was mistaken. I put the text in French. Here it is in English.
I do not know if we understood each other well. I do not see what it’s like to see the ‘Motif’ theme with its demo. I repeat my explanation.
My problem is that I see my blog with a very small font. I tried with another browser and I see it with a normal font without those white margins to the right and left. I deduce that there is a worry on the side of the browser. And on the other hand my other blog https://spotjardin.wordpress.com/ I see it with a normal font and always with the same browser Mozilla. I can not explain it to you.

  • Unknown's avatar

I see your spotjardin site using Motif exactly the same as I see your petanque site.

I am sorry, but I have run out of ideas to help you and have tagged this again for Staff assistance.

  • @jeanclaudedivet your site looks normal to me too, much like https://motifdemo.wordpress.com/blog/

Do you want to set up a front page with no sidebar, like https://motifdemo.wordpress.com/ ?

Also, if it helps, we do have a French support forum at https://fr.forums.wordpress.com/

  • Unknown's avatar

You have a francophone worker at home because I feel you do not understand exactly what I am explaining to you. It’s certainly not your fault. There must be a translation problem.

  • I’ll see if I can find someone to help. In the meantime, do you mind posting at at https://fr.forums.wordpress.com/ and sending the link? The volunteers there may well understand the issue.
