  The blog has not disappeared. I see the blog at that link. What has happened is that you deleted the Hello World placeholder post and that resulted in a 404 (page not found) error message on your blog’s front page. http://en.support.wordpress.com/not-found/ As soon as you publish a post, not a page that error message will disappear. http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/

  No, her advice is completely correct as you can see by looking at your blog now. Because you stopped making Pages and made Posts, the Posts are now showing instead of the 404 page.
