My blog does not allow me to change the theme
-
It says that the theme has bee updated from misty look to misty lake and I should change the theme. But appearance “button” is missing so I cannot change the theme. I do not want to start the whole blog from the start again.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I am Admin so I should be able to do it. I think that the reason to my problem is upgraded theme. I just need to know how to get access to appearance or change theme without appearance “button”.
-
I don’t know what button you’re referring to. Do you have the Appearance->Themes page on your dashboard, in the vertical menu on the left-hand side?
-
I do not have appearance -> themes page. That is the problem. (I am from Finland and I do not know all the correct words in English.)
-
a) When the interface language is set to Finnish, Appearance > Themes is Ulkoasu > Teemat dashboard sidebar, below Kommentit and Palautteet).
b) You can also post in the Finnish forum:
http://fi.forums.wordpress.com
c) The notice doesn’t say you should change the theme. It simply informs you that a successor to MistyLook is available. You don’t have to switch to it. -
Thanks for the link to Finnish forum. I am not getting understood in English.
Anyway, I think that I should change theme because I would like to do something to my blog’s appearance. The appearance page is missing, also in Finnish. And that because my current theme does not exist anymore. -
This is the text about the upgading:
Howdy! Your current theme, MistyLook, has seen an update in the form of a brand new theme, Misty Lake.
-
Mistylook is merely retired, not eliminated. New bloggers won’t see it on the list of possible themes, but you can continue to use it.
Being retired means that the theme wranglers won’t be adding new features to it, but it still works.
If you do want to change themes, then this link should work:

Link says:

Do you see your blog on this link? Are you listed as an administrator?
http://krankkulassa.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs -
Is the blog you are asking about on this account instead?
http://heralderi.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php -
I can see and if i go from there to the blog it is the same view, no appearance page. And yes I am admin.
-
I’m out of ideas. I’ll put a modlook tag on this thread so staff will see it. If you subscribe you’ll be notified when there is a response.

@heralderi – I show that you are listed only as an Editor on the site krankkulassa.wordpress.com.
An Editor can view, edit, publish, and delete any posts/pages, moderate comments, manage categories, manage tags, manage links and upload files/images.
Changing the blog’s theme is only something that an Administrator can do, which is why that option is not available for you on krankkulassa.wordpress.com. Here’s more information on the differences in user roles:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/I hope that clarifies things! Let me know if you have any questions.
