My blog does not look like the theme I chose–iTheme2
-
I signed up for a free theme, iTheme2, because it looked like the best choice for our bicycle business due to the wonderful photo gallery at the top of the page. However, once activated the theme does not look like it did before activated and I can’t figure out how to set it up.

You can activate the slider at the top of the page by creating a sticky post with a featured image.
This guide explains how to make a post “sticky”:

Hi!
Thank you very much for that information–I hadn’t used the “sticky” option before. However, when I try posting 6 or 7 thumbnail-size photos and click the sticky box and hit “preview,” I am still not seeing the photos in a slider format. Is this possible only after having upgraded to custom something or other???
Thank you,

These are actually only whole posts displayed in the slider, so you would need one post for each image.

Thank you for your response. However, when I tried posting 3 posts, each with one photo in it, and w/ the “sticky” feature selected, they still do not post in the slider.
What I am asking is–How do I create or implement the “slider” feature that was the reason I chose this iTheme2 theme??? It doesn’t seem to come up on it’s own, nor do I see a what to activate it. HELP!!!
Also, where can I find a tutorial on the “Format” options on the far right side when I bring up a new post page? I haven’t made sense of what selecting any of them does (I had hoped that selecting “gallery” would create the slider, but no…). -
Have you set a featured image for each post that you want to appear in the slider?

Ok, I finally had success in creating a photo “slider” bar at the almost top of my blogsite! It was incredibly frustrating and difficult to figure it out, however, so I am going to lay out a blow-by-blow for how to accomplish this, just in case there are any other poor saps who run into the same problem with the iTheme2 theme:
Put cursor in body of post
Click on image icon & select image
(once uploaded or accessed) click on “show” button
click “none” for Alignment
click “thumbnail” for size
click “make featured image” at bottom right of screen
(once saved) click “insert into post”
(once returned to post page) under Publish:
click “Public”
click “”stick this post to front page…”
click “Ok”
click “Publish” (or “Update,” whichever you see)A strong request for the designers of these themes:
I did a lot of hunting around trying to figure out what was wrong with my theme (or me, for that matter, but that’s another issue!), and found no tutorial that spelled out whether this photo slider thing was something I could do myself or whether I needed to Upgrade and pay the $30 fee (luckily, I finally did click on the Upgrade button and realized that neither of the two benefits offered there would address this issue). I found the process EXTREMELY frustrating and tedious and would have complained volubly if I could have found a Customer Service support link to do so.
Suggestion: It would be great if when we select a theme, and our baby blog doesn’t look (format-wise) like the theme, that there would be some brief how-to instructions for each theme, spelling out what is required to make it look “right.” Obviously, I am new to this type of thing, but I assumed when I activated the iTheme2 theme that there then would at least be a structure in place for me to simply plug in my own personal info. Not the case.
Thanks for the tips from the above people–you helped put me on the right track!
