My blog draft disappeared
-
I’m really upset about my blog draft disappearing today.
Since I finished my writing and trying to find and place some picture (it failed cause of picture size a few times, but at least it was successful), and trying to see my preview before publishing, something strange happened, and I lost everything! In my draft menu, I found only the first 5-6 sentences, but the rest wasn’t there. My text is very long, and took me really big amount time to write it. All the time, during my writing, autosaving mode worked very well (I noticed that a lot of times), but I never expected to see that kind of failure, I’m not responsible for. Please, help me, and find out what happened. I need my blog post back!
It’s name is ‘1-3’, and as I remember, my last trying to finish picture placement was around 12 30 PM (UTC) or similar. I feel desperate :(.
P.S. I tried all recommended steps for revisions, but there is no help (I can see some of steps but not my blog text, and I haven’t been loged off of wordpress blog in last 7 days)
Thank you for your support and help.
Yours sincerely, L.

Hi there,
Which site is this for? I see you have a few on your account. What is the title of the post that you have in your drafts folder so we can take a closer look?
Thanks for the additional info!

It is for lavirintiranje.wordpress.com
Title of the post was “1-3” (I couldn’t see it at all, except as a draft without this title, and only with a few sentences at the beginning). I can see at picture folder all my photos I’ve tried to post, and these steps, but not text at all.In my latest draft it is possible to see 9 revisions (the most important is in my opinion the one from 1 day ago – +63 -14, without details).
Thank you!

Hi there,
Were you making updates to this draft via a mobile device by chance? Drafts are saved locally on mobile whenever the app cannot access the site due to any internet issues. If so, there could be a caching issue preventing the post from your app from syncing correctly. Restarting should flush the device cache.
Let us know if you were using a mobile device.
Thanks,

Hmm, I don’t see anything by that title in the drafts or posts.
– did you have more than one editor window open? If so I’m wondering if a newer blanker revision got saved over an old one with all the text.
– did you type the first few sentences, leave the editor open for a long time (overnight for example) then come back and type the rest? I’m wondering if the connection could have timed out.

– Yes, I did, maybe 3 of them.
– The same answer…. I was writing this text more than 3-4 days. -
Hello there,
I see that there are three drafts in your site without a title.
When viewing the drafts on a desktop, can you tell me if one of these is the draft?
Many thanks.

Hi,
All I can see are two drafts, one from earlier (one sentence, and I need to delete it, it is not important) and other one which is the last I made after that disaster (filled with some short new text). Nothing else.
I can’t see the third.Thanks.

To clarify; there are only two drafts with no title. We see the same as you.
We were able to find one item that was recently deleted. Try viewing this and let us know if that is the missing post.
Hopefully that is the missing post, because there are no other stones we can overturn to try to find what’s been lost. If that is not the missing post, unfortunately, you will need to start on the idea again in a new post.
As my colleague @supernovia mentions, everything is tied to the browser, which is tied to limitations of that browser, the computer, and the connection to the Internet. Auto-save works, however, once a computer goes into hibernation or disconnects from the Internet, unexpected behaviors can creep in and cause some real headaches. When in doubt, manually save your work by pressing the Save Draft link in the upper-right. Especially if you plan to step away for a bit and then come back.

Unfortunately, this draft is the one I’ve made yesterday or day before, but the main is missing.
Thank you very much for your advices and support.
This is a good lesson for the future. All the best, and thank you once more.
Yours sincerely,
laviritiranje.
