It is not possible to install plugins on WordPress.com, for security reasons. Plugins can only be installed on self-hosted WordPress.org blogs.

If you are wondering how WordPress.com differs from WordPress.org, this support article explains the distinction:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

Can you let me know what feature you were looking for in a plugin? Perhaps there’s a way to accomplish this at WordPress.com without using a plugin!

My original idea was to embed a pdf on a page in a good looking way.

I diligently tried most of the codes spread in the internet for this reason without success. And I came across many tutorials in which they used these plugins… Of course I´m open for any new or old idea that serves the purpose.

    Thanks a lot!

There are two primary ways you could display a PDF on your site:

    1. You could upload the document as explained here:

      Upload a Document

This would display a download link within your page or post.

    2. You could use a service like Scribd to embed the document directly in the page:

It sounds like the second option might work better for what you’re looking for. Can you give that a try?

I will give the 2. option a try, I guess. Thanky a lot for your time and help.
