My blog got 705 viewers in one day almost all looking at the same post, why?

The post was an old one and 705 viewers looked at the same post. I am thinking something is wrong with my blog?
The stats are already at over 400 views of the same post for the next day?
I don’t understand why they are all viewing one post?The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

However:
The internet works in strange ways, look at your referrals and see if your post might have been put on a forum or another site as a link – the referrals are your best tool to maybe see what happened – your blog is safe no matter what the traffic – and maybe a few of the visitors will come back
A couple of days ago Reddit linked to one of my 4 year old obscure posts on coiling line (rope) on a boat – a method used on Tall Ships – average one (or so) page view a day for the last four years – and had a little over 200 page views in two days – so the internet happens

That’s interesting, exactly why I’m here, to find out why my site is seeing a sharp increase average is normally 80 visitors / 150 visits per day, yesterday was 700 / 1,200!

My referral source was facebook which seems odd to me.
It’s at about 800 views today already for the lasagna recipe! Weird.
Maybe the recipe is linked to the picture I used of the chef? Or of the recipe?
It also says I got 300 new followers, yet the number is staying the same.
It’s very strange. -

Have you checked your referrers? https://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/#referrersWhat is the UR of the post getting all the views?
Is it a giveaway post?
Freebie posts and bribe posts (do this to get a free that) always attract lots of traffic.

I checked with our data team, and can confirm the views are accurate. You had a lot of visits from Facebook, and they all appear valid. Keep up the good work! :)
