My Blog got messed up

  • Unknown's avatar

I requested a transfer of my domain name newleaven.com to go under a new blog, instead of my older blog, but I didn’t get my CSS editing that I paid for nor my comments with their posts.

Now I’m trying to get support to reverse the whole process so I’ll go back to the usual.

    I need help.

    Thanks,
    TC

You will need to contact staff directly.

    http://support.wordpress.com/

You DO know that upgrades only apply to the blogs for which they were purchased, they don’t move from blog to blog when the domain name is transferred.

I contacted support a few times now but now response.

    I didn’t know. My bad, I guess.

    *no response, I meant.

What exactly do you want to do? You want to apply the domain name newleaven.com, which is currently associated with an existing wordpress.com blog, to a DIFFERENT Wp.com blog? And you want the Custom CSS upgrade on that new blog? And you want to import the comments and posts from your old blog?

I don’t understand; it looks like you’re exactly duplicating an existing blog, using a new founding URL and then changing it to the old unique domain name. All this is possible, but it’s going to cost you money to end up with exactly the same thing you had at the start.

May I ask what you want to achieve, why you’re doing this? Maybe there’s a cheaper and better workaround.

Raincoaster, exactly what you outlined. But I think I’ll go back to how it was. It’s not worth the extra money.

It was the domain name newleaven.com under tcconnect.wordpress.com. But I wanted to change it to newleaven.com under newleaven.wordpress.com, just to be n sync.

Thanks. I need to resolve the matter.

Yeah, just sticking with the original is the way to go, definitely. Those upgrades add up, and if you set newleaven.com as the primary domain, nobody will ever see the tcconnect.wordpress.com address.

Yeah. I got Support to make the switch, but now I can’t get them to reverse it. Why is this the case?

  • Unknown's avatar

Well, there’s some law that you can’t move a blog domain for something like 60 days after a switch. Just keep trying to contact them via your dashboard Support link. And check your email spam folder for their response; sometimes they go there.
