My blog has been sending out spam without my consent.

I keep receiving comments that we have been spamming on other blogs. From my referrals in my blog stats I also see it linked from many weird blogs… We have done no such thing and would like to fix the problem of this spamming. We keep getting complains about it. Could you please help.

Ah, if it’s just the referrer listed, there’s nothing that we can do.
A referrer is the location that the visitor came to the site from.
For example, if I had a link to your site place on http://macmanx.com/ and then I clicked that link, you would see a referrer in your stats from http://macmanx.com/
No one necessarily representing http://macmanx.com/ visited your site, but someone did visit your site through a link found there.
This is what’s happening here. Perhaps a spammer is leaving spam comments on that blog, and perhaps they are getting there after visiting http://www.therightwrong.net/ but the comments are not coming from your blog directly.

Oh, that is a comment, not a referrer.
In this case, there really isn’t anything you can do. Anyone can fill in whatever they want to in those comment forms.
For example, I could leave a comment with your URL, or you could leave on with mine.
The affected blogger might want to consider adding your URL to the moderation list or blacklist for a week or so.
